Bucheon, the UNESCO City of Literature in South Korea, has announced a call for applications for a residence for writers, translators and artists (comics, graphic novels, etc.) from UNESCO Creative Cities, incl. from Ulyanovsk. Two selected guests will be invited to work in the city in October-November 2021 (for 4-6 weeks), will be provided with air tickets, scholarships and accommodation.

The winners of the competitive selection will be provided with:
- air tickets;
- accommodation for 4-6 weeks;
- scholarship for expenses and food up to 850 USD.
Required documents
- Completed application form, portfolio.
- List of achievements for the last three years.
- Proficiency in Korean or English for communication.
- Interest in Korean literature and culture.
- At least one published work (book, translation, comics, graphics, etc.).
Upon completion of the residency, an essay or comic / picture book about life in Bucheon (Korea or Korean culture) must be submitted. Also, the writer (or artist) will take part in one or more activities in Korea.
In October 2021, the first Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award will be presented in Bucheon. Additional points when evaluating applications to the residence will be received by candidates with experience in working with the diaspora (or relevant publications, works), but this is not a mandatory requirement for applying.
