An exhibition of poems and photographs dedicated to 18 UNESCO literary cities has opened in Reykjavik (Iceland) as part of the Reading Festival. Ulyanovsk at the exhibition is represented by a poem by Gala Uzryutova and photographs by Yulia Uzryutova.
Work on the exhibition began a few months ago - Reykjavik announced the opportunity for all UNESCO literary cities to join the project and submit for the exhibition one poem dedicated to the city, written in or translated into English, and a photograph as an illustration.
The directorate of the program "Ulyanovsk - a literary city of UNESCO" announced the acceptance of applications for participation in the project among residents of the city. A total of 5 applications were received, of which, together with the organizers of the exhibition in Reykjavik, a poem by Gala Uzryutova entitled “Ulyanovsk. The name under the snow ”(“ Ulyanovsk. The name under the snow ”) and a mini-series of three photographs by Yulia Uzryutova.

The exhibition opened this week in Reykjavik. In total, the stands of 18 UNESCO literary cities are presented at it.
Let us remind you that the program "Ulyanovsk - a literary city of UNESCO" is implemented by the Administration of the city of Ulyanovsk with the support of the Fund "Ulyanovsk - the cultural capital" and the Ministry of Art and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk Region. Ulyanovsk joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in December 2015.
