On September, 8 at 11 AM Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature invites you to participate in a creative tour "Yes, Pushkin!": "Pugachev in Simbirsk. History and myths".

Do you know what was one of the reasons why Pushkin came to Simbirsk in 1833?

Simbirsk turned out to be the only major city in the Volga region that did not surrender to the leader of the peasant revolt, Pugachev. This fact struck Pushkin. The great poet came to our city to collect valuable historical materials. They formed the basis of two works by Pushkin - "History of the Pugachev uprising" and the "The Captain's Daughter" story ".

We invite you to immerse yourself in the history of Simbirsk and to do this, go on a unique journey - a creative tour along the "Pugachev route".

On this journey, we will “meet” famous personalities of the 18th-19th centuries: the commander Alexander Suvorov, the historian Nikolai Karamzin, the Yazykov brothers, Alexander Pushkin and even the high school student Volodya Ulyanov (Lenin). And, of course, with Emelyan Pugachev. He will appear before us as Simbirsk saw him, and will deliver his famous monologue (a professional actor will act as a rebel).

Our route will start by the Lenin Square and continue to the monument to Bogdan Khitrovo, through the Literary Museum "House of the Yazykovs" and Karamzin Square. We will also visit the territory of the Governor's Palace, where in the 19th century Pushkin saw the walls and buildings of the Spassky Convent, the Cadet Corps, the monument to Suvorov, Theater Square and the embankment of the Volga River. At each stage of the route, you will feel the atmosphere of the legends about Pushkin's stay in Simbirsk.

The tour will end in the Historical and Memorial Center-Museum of I. A. Goncharov, where we will have an interesting conversation “From Petrusha to Peter: through the pages of A.S. Pushkin". Lecturer - Tatyana Bulatova, laureate of the International Literary Prize named after I. A. Goncharov, candidate of philological sciences, writer, development director of the  Floberium literary agency and school.
