On April 14, in the Ceremonial Hall of the Palace of Books in Ulyanovsk, a presentation of the book “Simbirsk Glinkas. The diaries of Elena Glinka: a documentary confession.
The editor of the publication, Ulyanovsk local historian, researcher of the Simbirsk family Glinkok, candidate of philosophical sciences Sergey Borisovich Petrov spoke about the idea, the history of creation and work on the book. The book introduces the Simbirsk branch of the famous noble family of Glinka, starting with a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812.
The book was based on the recently found unique diaries of Elena Glinka, the daughter of A. S. Glinka (Volzhsky), published for the first time. The last two notebooks of twenty-nine detail the last months of her father's life and other members of the Glinka family. In addition, the diaries are a reliable historical source reflecting Elena's observations, her thoughts and experiences in the difficult pre-war period and during the Great Patriotic War. The book contains photographs from the family archive, documents of the Glinka family.

The presentation was attended by a descendant of a glorious noble family, lawyer, professor of Moscow State University, widower of the heroic Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka (Doctor Lisa) Gleb Glebovich Glinka.
Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk is the small homeland of his father and grandfather (A. S. Glinka (Volzhsky) - philosopher, writer). For the first time Gleb Glebovich visited Ulyanovsk in 1998, participated in the anniversary of the city, donated to the city a book by A.F. Kerensky with his autograph. Since 2009, G. G. Glinka began to provide various assistance to the Chamber of Advocates of the Ulyanovsk Region.
Of particular interest was the story of Gleb Glebovich about his wife Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka (Doctor Liza), a public figure, philanthropist, human rights activist, who won popular love as the personification of kindness and compassion, who tragically died in December 2016 in a plane crash over the Black Sea. Elizaveta Petrovna repeatedly visited Ulyanovsk. In 2012, she opened a palliative department in our city in the Ulyanovsk specialized orphanage, where doctors work to make life easier for children with severe lesions of the nervous system.
The participants of the meeting watched a short film by K. Simonova “Film made of sand – in memory of Doctor Liza” (sand animation).
Gleb Glinka answered numerous questions from the audience. He also transferred the documents of Elena Glinka to the State Archive of Recent History of the Ulyanovsk Region. Among the documents are Elena Glinka's diaries for 1939-1941. The last two notebooks of the twenty-nine she once wrote describe in detail the last months of her father's life and some other representatives of the Glinka family. In addition, the diaries are a reliable historical source that reflects Elena's observations, her thoughts and experiences in the difficult pre-war period and during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, in which she was a participant. The archive also received a letter from the front, written by Elena to her relatives.

Olga Georgievna Sheipak, editor-in-chief of the local history magazine Monomakh, presented the guest with the April issue of the magazine with articles about the Simbirsk Glinkas and Doctor Lisa.
