On World Book Day, April 23, the UNESCO City of Literature in China Nanjing held the 26th Reading Festival. Ulyanovsk poet Danila Nozdryakov took part in it online.

World Book and Copyright Day has been observed annually on April 23 since 1996. It was proclaimed at the 28th session of UNESCO in 1995. Nanjing celebrated World Book Day with the Reading Festival, which opened in Yuhuatai Park, and recordings of the activities were broadcast in Jiangsu Province and throughout China.

Locals as well as authors from the UNESCO Cities of Literature share the joy of reading and talk about their favorite books. Thus, authors from Ulyanovsk, Wonju, Edinburgh, Nottingham and Quebec became online participants of the festival.

In particular, Danila Nozdryakov told Chinese readers about one of his favorite books - the novel by the French writer Albert Camus "The Outsider".
