June 25-27. Online festival "Airship" named after the poet Alexei Parshchikov
25.06.2021

Афиша фестиваля Дирижабль

The Airship Festival will be held online on June 25-27. It bears the name of Alexei Maksimovich Parshchikov, one of the most significant Russian poets of our time, who has lived in Germany since 1996, and is one of the founders of the school of metarealism.

The focus of the festival is the literature of Eastern Europe. Presented by authors living and working in Estonia (Tallinn) and Russia (Dagestan, Moscow and St. Petersburg), it meets an imaginary Eastern Europe composed of authors who live today in Germany, Switzerland and the USA and write in different languages, but whose cultural origins go back to Armenia and Azerbaijan, Poland, Russia and Ukraine.

The festival aims to give literary audiences from Berlin, Germany, Eastern European countries, etc., the opportunity to get acquainted with contemporary literary works of the authors, as well as with the main themes of the festival.

Organizers

The Commonwealth of Russian-Speaking Authors in Germany / SLOG, headed by Dmitry Dragilev, and the creative team auslandSPRACHEN, coordinator of which is Alexander Filyuta, held a series of WOSTOK readings in 2018. The project turned out to be successful, and on its basis the WOSTOK II project was developed. In May 2019, SLOG organized the first festival "Airship", aimed primarily at the Russian-speaking audience. At the suggestion of auslandSPRACHEN and in collaboration with SLOG, curators D. Dragilev and A. Filyuta created a new festival format at the end of 2020, in which the WOSTOK II reading cycle forms the main part of the project, including five events, and through expansion of the project through four additional readings is given the opportunity to hold a three-day festival. The project is funded by the Department of Culture and Europe of the Senate of Berlin and Rossotrudnichestvo.
