On June 23, there will be an online meeting with poet-slammers Bas Bötcher, Alexander Delfinov and Nikita Gorbunov, as well as an exclusive screening of a film about poet-slammers from Germany.

The event is part of the Germany Express Festival, which is held as part of the Year of Germany in Russia. The broadcast will begin at 19:30 (Moscow time) on the Goethe-Institut Russland channel. Irina Bondas will be the moderator.

Poetry slam was born in the mid-1980s in the United States as a full-time tournament of informal and non-academic poets - authors, not so much of poetry in the classical sense, but of artistic (and, as a rule, topical) texts. Over the past time, this type of verbal art has spread throughout the world, acquiring many new forms and getting used to dozens of languages.

In the German-speaking space, poetry slam has recently acquired an unprecedented scope. In the Russian-speaking space, poetry slam looks completely different - it is younger, more lyrical, more insecure than German, but no worse. And, of course, they are united by the fact that slam is a show, a game, a format. It is not complete without speakers, but it is just as impossible without an audience. The audience is the soul and heart of the slam movement, they determine the final result, but the most important thing in this is the process itself, when a living word sounds.
