From November 28 to December 5, the 21st Forum of Young Writers of Russia, CIS countries and abroad "Lipki" was held in the Zvenigorodsky boarding house near Moscow. This year, Ulyanovsk was represented by the writer Igor Ulitin, who for the first time became one of the 160 participants in the event. Based on the results of the Forum, the author was awarded a scholarship.

The forum is organized by the Foundation for Socio-Economic and Intellectual Programs and is held jointly with the literary magazines Questions of Literature, Friendship of Peoples, Zvezda, Znamya, Foreign Literature, Novy Mir, Modern Dramaturgy, Youth ”, etc. More than 400 young writers from 65 regions of Russia and 8 countries of the CIS and abroad took part in the competition. Among the masters who led the master classes this year are Denis Dragunsky, Valery Voskoboynikov, Valery Popov, Alexei Alekhin and other well-known authors. The poet Danila Nozdryakov was supposed to be the second Ulyanovsk resident in Lipki, but he could not take part in the event.

- I became a participant in the seminar of the Yunost magazine, the masters of which were the writer German Sadulaev, who himself once went through the Lipok school, and the poetess Anna Revyakina, - said Igor Ulitin. - I presented a selection of stories, which consisted of two parts: in the genre of realism and absurd fantasy. As a result, opinions on the discussion were divided. Some participants said that I was more successful with realistic texts, others (like the masters) - that perhaps I should switch to fantasy.

According to Igor, the Youth seminar had at least a few peculiarities. First, there was no division of authors into poets and prose writers. Secondly, the analysis of works at the Youth seminar this year was very tough.

Creative meetings with writers and poets were also organized for the Forum participants. Among the guests is the editor-in-chief of the Yunost magazine, the chairman of the Association of Unions of Writers and Publishers of Russia Sergey Shargunov.

As a result of the Forum, Igor Ulitin became one of the scholarship holders. In addition, his fantasy story "The War of the Samurai Matsumoto" was recommended for publication in the magazine "Youth".

For 20 years, more than three thousand authors have taken part in the forums. The Ulyanovsk authors Danila Nozdryakov, Gala Uzryutova, Vyacheslav Savin, Tatyana Filatova, Maria Zavadskaya and others have repeatedly become its participants and scholarship holders. We also recall that the Forum was held several times in Ulyanovsk, the UNESCO City of Literature.

Igor Ulitin was born in 1986 in the village of Cherny Klyuch, Bazarnosyzgansky district, since 2003 he has been living in Ulyanovsk. Graduated from UlGPU. Education teacher of geography and biology. Since 2008 he has been working as a journalist, of which seven years in the "People's Newspaper". Author of the samizdat collection "Unwilling". Laureate of the competitions "First Dew", "Verslibre", "Span of Fantasy". He was included in the long list of the Filatov Festival, in the short list of the international competition "The Road to the Temple" (Israel). In prose, she prefers short format, in poetry - civil lyrics and satire.
