Events dedicated to the celebration of the 209th anniversary of the birth of the writer I.A. Goncharov, in Ulyanovsk will be held on June 17-19. These days, those who wish are invited to take part in the All-Russian Goncharov Festival and the XVII Oblomov Festival.

According to the Ulyanovsk Museum of Local Lore, one of the central events of the celebration this year, which is held in the region under the sign of the Year of the Book, promises to be a book fair, which will be organized on June 17-19 in the museum courtyard of the Goncharov House. The products of the leading federal and regional publishing houses will be presented at this site.

On June 18, the writer's birthday, a flower-laying ceremony will traditionally be held at his monuments, as well as the action "Reading Goncharov Together": volunteers, employees of cultural institutions and Ulyanovsk residents in libraries and at memorial places associated with the name of Goncharov will read excerpts from his works.

On June 19, a real celebration in honor of Goncharov will be held on Novy Venets Boulevard. Exhibitions, master classes, creative laboratories will be organized at 40 creative venues. The program will be interesting for both children and adults.

Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Culture of Speech of the Saratov State Law Academy, laureate of the International Literary Prize named after A.I. I.A. Goncharova Ivan Pyrkov. And at 18.00 there will begin a concert of the Ulyanovsk State Academic Symphony Orchestra "Gubernatorsky" with the participation of young opera singers, laureates of All-Russian and International vocal competitions Ofelia Pogosyan and Maxim Daminov (St. Petersburg).

Young workers of state and municipal cultural institutions of the Ulyanovsk region will be celebrated with the "Oblomov apple".
