Entries open for Dunedin Young Writers Festival
30.01.2020

The New Zealand Young Writers Festival and the UNESCO City of Literature Dunedin are accepting applications from young authors from UNESCO Cities of Literature wishing to take part in this massive event in October 2020. Accommodation is provided and a small stipend.

The New Zealand Young Writers Festival is an annual four-day program of workshops, panels, performances and other events for young writers (ages 15 to 35). It involves authors of various genres, as well as journalists and essayists.

The festival is held in Dunedin, the UNESCO City of Literature. Preliminary dates for the sixth festival: October 1 - 4, 2020.

The organizers invite writers from UNESCO cities of literature, including Ulyanovsk, to apply for participation in the festival. Accommodation and a small stipend are provided to cover the cost of staying at the festival (airfare is not paid, but the organizers are ready to consider providing the author of the support letter to seek funding through funds and other structures).

How to apply?

Please email your festival ideas and questions to Gareth McMillan Director@dunedinfringe.nz. The authors are expected to provide a detailed description of the concept of your event and the reasons why it will be of interest to the city. It can be a seminar, a social event, a discussion, a reading - anything that meets the spirit of the times and is of interest to other young writers.

The application in English must also include the logistical requirements for the implementation of the project and a short curriculum vitae.

Application Deadline: February 15, 2020
