On December 15, the Goncharov Central City Library in Ulyanovsk will host the presentation of an exhibition by illustrator Vadim Chelak for the fairy tale "Chipollino" (on the 100th anniversary of the birth of J. Rodari).
Vadim Georgievich Chelak (1961) is an illustrator.
Born in the family of the famous marine painter Georgy Dmitrievich Chelak; from childhood he became interested in drawing, studied at the Sevastopol city art school, at the age of ten he entered the Moscow art school at the Surikov Institute.
Demobilized from the army, he entered the graphics department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute.
Today he works a lot in the field of book illustration and easel graphics. Illustrated more than thirty books, including works by A.P. Chekhov, R. Kipling, S. Lagerlöf, D. Rodari, M. Twain, D. Swift.
The opening of the exhibition will take place as part of the Cultural Dialogue: Meetings in the Provinces program. Organizer - MBUK "Centralized Library Association" with the support of the Russian Cultural Foundation and the Department of Culture and Leisure of the Population of the Administration of the City of Ulyanovsk. This is a cultural and educational program for the residents of the city of Ulyanovsk, within the framework of which a series of cultural events and meetings will take place.
