The Kazan publishing house "Feng" published a prose book by the Ulyanovsk poet Andrey Tsukhlov "Rye for Salvation". This is a collection of works written between 2012 and 2019. It reflected the life of the Russian provinces and our contemporaries, their reality and otherness.
Between the prose works there are lyrical interludes - poems by Andrei Tsukhlov, who took the pseudonym "Misha Slantsev" for his prose. The book has become a kind of embodiment of a certain bifurcation of the author's personality into prosaic and poetic components of creativity.
- In general, this collection itself is very harmonious, it is not a hodgepodge of different texts, but works with similar characters and style. There, the main image shines through everywhere - homo normalis, an ordinary person, not to say that “small”, but his own, similar to me and you, someone who can be called at any time of the day or night, - says the candidate of philological sciences about this book, Ulyanovsk prose writer Yevgeny Safronov. - And the question, the main question of the collection: why are we all here, what did I spend these 60-70 years of the term allotted to me? And each of us, one way or another, will have to answer it ... Who knows - maybe the Tsukhlov-Slate "gizmos" will help us with this?
